Officers were called to an incoming flight at Gate 49 at Manchester Airport on Saturday afternoon, 2 May. It is understood that the captain of the flight was asked to attend the gate after raising concerns. Both members of the cabin crew were arrested after preliminary breathalyser tests returned readings above the permitted threshold for aviation duties, reports the Manchester Evening News. However, subsequent tests carried out while in custody revealed they were within the legal limit, and both individuals were released without charge. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police attended the Manchester Airport on 2 May 2026 after concerns about the fitness of two cabin crew members to perform their duties.
