The first of March is upon us again - and with it a host of St David's Day celebration events are set to take place on Sunday in honour of the patron saint of Wales. St David - or Dewi Sant in Welsh - was born on the south-west coast of Wales, near to where the city of St Davids is today. To honour him many Welsh people around the world wear one of the country's national emblems on the day: a daffodil or a leek. While celebrations are held across Wales, events also take place in England, with many held just across border in Shropshire. Here are some of the events taking place in the West Midlands, devoted to the Welsh patron saint.
